Details of Galaxy Tab 8.9 surface

It was suspenseful while it lasted, but it looks like Samsung’s secret is out of the bag. The much hyped 8.9” Samsung Galaxy Tab appears to have been all but officially confirmed, thanks to a few sneaky member of the press that managed to snag a look at Samsung’s booth hp elitebook 8740w battery and photograph some relevant place cards.

Samsung has been promoting their newest tablet for the past month or so with various teaser images hp elitebook 8540p battery and videos. Unfortunately, the media provided by Samsung was vague and only provided flashes of the tablet without any specs. However, thanks to the photos taken, it appears the tablet is indeed an 8.9” Galaxy Tab featuring a 1280x800 pixel resolution WXVGA display. Samsung also appears to have bested Apple in the slimness department by .2mm (8.6mm thickness for the 8.9” Tab compared to 8.8mm in the iPad 2) toshiba pa3356u-1brs battery and the device should weigh only 470g.

Another tidbit detailed by the images appears to be an unnamed 1GHz dual-core CPU taking care of the processing capabilities. While the CPU model is unknown it will most likely be either a Tegra 2 processor found in the Galaxy Tab 10.1 or Samsungs own dual-core processor. Otherwise, true to typical Samsung tablet naming practices, the device will be known as the Galaxy Tab 8.9 toshiba pa3356u-1bas battery and should also be the first tablet to receive a custom UI on top of the Honeycomb interface. Most tablets tend to stick to the stock Android experience, but Samsung seems to be changing things up with their own customizations. The added content includes a “Live Panel” home screen hp presario cq72 battery and a “Mini Apps Tray” that provides easy switching between apps.

Unfortunately, the actual device wasn’t lying around anywhere Lenovo ideapad u550 battery and we’ll have to make do with the place cards for now. Thankfully, the Samsung conference tomorrow in Orlando should provide all the necessary info and more; so make sure to stay tuned for news about the official announcement.

Asus Eee Pad Transformer to debut

For those out there anxiously awaiting Asus’s Eee Pad Transformer tablet, the wait might soon be over. According to a Facebook status on the Asus Club page, the tablet should begin selling in Taiwan as soon as this Friday, March 25th.

Although Asus first announced the tablet would be released in April, they appear to be bending the rules a bit for their home country. The Facebook status which reads: “Only four days left before the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer launch in Taiwan. Are you ready for it?” popped up earlier on the Facebook page but hp g72 battery lacked any word about a release in other countries. However, Engadget managed to get ahold of the ASUS rep. in the US who confirmed that the Transformer should be coming stateside in early April.

The Eee Pad transformer is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, a 10.1” IPS display with a 1280x800 pixel resolution, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, hp envy 17 battery and should be available in 16GB and 32GB flavors. What sets the tablet apart from its colleagues is a keyboard dock that attaches to the tablet and “Transforms” it into a laptop. However, it is yet to be seen how smoothly the dock will be able to interface with the Honeycomb OS.

Asus first targeted a $400-$700 price range for the tablet hp g62 battery and a magazine ad by Spanish reseller “The Phone House” appears to confirm that. The ad listed a €400($570) launch price for the dock-less tablet but didn’t provide any info about what the complete package will eventually cost. While a global launch should come soon enough, those unable to wait can head on over to Taiwan to pick up a Transformer for themselves.

Financial reports point to 6 new tablets

Archos hasn’t been exactly the biggest name in tablet devices recently, but they do have a decent hold on the lower end of the tablet market. However, that could change soon as Archos is hinting towards some heavy hitters in their 2011 tablet product line.

According to a financial results document by Archos, the French company has big plans for their Generation 9 Android tablet line. The document outlines certain directions the company will be taking in 2011 in order to beat the competition. Unfortunately, those directions don’t seem to include a new design, as the company seems to be sticking with the plastic-overmolded stainless steel structure used in previous tablets. The reasoning behind the same material seems to be that the structure results in a “thinner, lighter hp compaq presario cq62 battery and stronger tablet enclosure” that is cheaper than other alternatives.

While the design might not bring anything new to the table, the document did indicate some powerful hardware that could turn the Archos Generation 9 tablets into competitors. At the moment, the top gun in the tablet processor department seems to be the 1GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 that is found in the likes of the iPad 2 hp compaq presario cq42 battery and the Motorola Xoom. However, Archos is planning on outfitting all their Generation 9 tablets with 1.6 Ghz dual-core Cortex A9 chips, and in doing so would be the first manufacturer to offer that CPU.

Lastly, the document also listed the inclusion of 3G connectivity in the tablets along with the use of a 250GB hard drive that would still equal the cost of a 32GB flash drive. The extra storage is achieved through a redesign of Android’s software layers, but would most likely lead to heavier HP Pavilion DM4 Battery and bulkier devices.

Although the top of the line CPU HP Pavilion DM4T Battery and extra space might have warranted a higher price tag, Archos still seems to be targeting the low price market. Although the new systems could be sold directly from Archos at a price ranging from 99€ to 400€ ($140-$566), they might also be available as white-label devices that are rebranded through various retailers. Archos plans on releasing the Generation 9 tablets in June of 2011 dell latitude e6510 battery and we’ll see if they can end up making a dent in an already overflowing tablet market.
